Sports hydration drinks become an innovation of the 21st century. Now with more modern technology, there are many different sports drinks to prepare someone for whatever sport or activity they are preparing for. Senior athlete Kyle Glassman is an avid drinker of all types of sports drinks.

I believe the best sports hydration drink is Gatorade because it tastes the best and makes me feel ready to play. I usually drink a bottle before and after every basketball game,” Glassman said.

Most people look for a high amount of carbs in a sports drink. They contain carbohydrates in the form of sugars. Electrolytes are the most sought-after. Electrolytes are vital for the healthy functioning of the human body. With the number of different flavors that these brands make, they are beneficial for anybody to drink, whether young or old. Senior athlete Jake Mallek loves his sports beverages and has many good things to say about them.

“The best sports hydration drink is Prime Hydration,” Mallek said.“I’m looking for quick thirst quenching, hydration, and something that doesn’t leave you needing more right away.”

There have been new sports drinks that have burst onto the market. One of them is Prime Hydration. Prime was created by influencers Logan Paul and KSI and its main purpose was to make a drink for all lifestyles. Prime is completely sold out online and is difficult to get even in person. Prime has been one of the most popular drinks on the market.

“My three favorite drinks are Gatorade, Pedialyte and Propel,” senior athlete Quade Moll said. “I only drink Pedialyte before games and I never drink Gatorade before games, only during or after.”

On top of Moll’s podium is orange-flavored Gatorade. Gatorade has 22 different flavors, which give people multiple options compared to some other brands.

“Lemon Lime [is my favorite flavor] because for as long as I can remember my mom was always giving me lemon-lime, ever since then I’ve been hooked,” Glassman said.

With all the different brands one would think that there would be many different answers. But it seems that Gatorade is the most beloved sports hydration drink upon Sequoit athletics.
