The Antioch Sequoits faced up against the Richmond Burton Comets on Tuesday, August 29th. The girls ran in a three mile race at Richardson’s Corn Maze.

The Sequoits started the race off strong although the Comets weren’t too far behind. Through the first lap the Comets had two runners in first and second place with junior Natalie Hill slowly moving her way up. Hill ultimately finished the race with a time of 21:55.

“I am proud of my performance today, it was a lot better than last week’s race,” Hill, the first place runner overall, said.

The girls cross country team defeated the Comets with a final score of 27-31. The course was different than what most runners are used to. Before the race, it started to rain which made the course even more muddy than it already was. The different style of course also made it a more difficult race to run.

“This race meant a lot to me because I have been running and training all summer long,” Hill said.

The next meet the girls have is an invitational at University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday, September 2nd.
