The Sequoits move down the field looking for an opportunity to score.

The varsity girls field hockey team faced off against Lake Forest for a cool, sunny game at night on the turf on Wednesday, October 19.

The Sequoits were on their own field, giving them the home team advantage, but that didn’t seem to be the case as the game started. The Scouts wasted no time and scored within six-minutes into the game. Even with the Scouts scoring, the girls kept fighting, but so did Lake Forest.

Soon, it was 2-0 in favor of the Scouts, with 12:32 left in the first half. The Sequoits were looking flat, and the Scouts took advantage of that and scored another goal making the score 3-0 with 7:39 left in the half. However, this was not the last time the Scouts would score. At the end of the first half, it was 4-0 to the Scouts. The lady Sequoits showed momentum in the second half but not enough to comeback, as the Scouts held on to a 5-0 win against the varsity Sequoit Field Hockey team.

“I feel our team has progressed tremendously,” junior Ashley Hradisky said. “We have improved our passing and talking. We worked harder than ever this year, beating teams we thought we couldn’t beat.”

Even with the season coming to an end, the girls have a lot to look back on and a lot to build off of for next year. The future is bright for the Sequoits and next year will be even more successful than this year.
