National Honors Society shows off their sweet side with Antioch’s annual Treat the Streets Saturday, Oct. 24. This year, the students of NHS volunteered at the event, formerly known as Fall Fest, for their annual group service project.

“Treat the Streets is more family-friendly,” said advisor Joseph Loffredo. “Fall Fest was more set up for adults.”

This is the second year that Treat the Streets has been a part of Antioch, and NHS has been helping out since the switch. The students can help set up, clean up, hand out candy and run the games set up for the community.

“It’s hard to find someone that is willing to take 120 volunteers,” said Loffredo. “There are a lot of different jobs, and we can set it up in different shifts.

The group is looking forward to what next year can bring in terms of additions to Treat the Streets as the service project for next year.
