Purple Foods Galore

Poor, purple food get overlooked every day, even though they have many health benefits and look pretty.

The color purple gets overlooked a lot, regarding food. When people think of food, they think of green or red, stereotypical vegetable colors, but rarely purple. I mean, when someone says the word, “purple” I don’t think of food, I think of clothes or something.

But in fact, there are many purple foods that are underrated including, the obvious: grapes, eggplants, plums and raisins. Everyone knows these foods and probably has eaten them, but not everyone thinks of blackberries as being purple. When you think about it, blackberries are indeed purple, not actually black. I’m pretty sure black isn’t even a color, so they can’t be black anyway. They should definitely be called purple berries or something, but I can’t make that change in culture, so we will still have to call them blackberries.

Then, we got those good vegetables, purple carrots, purple cabbage, purple peppers, purple potatoes and purple asparagus. All these foods are jam packed with antioxidants that you can’t get from normal colored foods. Plus, purple is fun and spices up your life.

According to Julie Daniluk, purple foods kill cancer, are good for the liver and heart. They also help to prevent ulcers and other health related issues. Purple foods can lower cholesterol too, which is always a good thing.

Plus, isn’t everyone’s favorite color purple?
