Student Council Shows Sharing is Caring

Antioch Community High School’s first musical performance wasn’t for the student body, but instead took place yesterday for the senior citizens of Antioch in the 13th annual Sharing is Caring event. Every year, the ACHS Student Council feeds the senior citizens dinner, this year provided by Walmart and Rosati’s Pizza, and afterwards, they get to enjoy the spring musical. Student council advisor Laura Tielke said she enjoys this event very much.

“My favorite part is seeing the friendly faces over and over again,” Tielke said. “Just seeing how appreciative they are of the event is great.”

She also enjoys seeing how both the students and senior citizens gain from each other.

“I liked hearing the stories that the retirees told me,” junior Desi Davis, a cast member of “Footloose”, said.

Next year they are hoping to change the time that the event starts in order to give the performers more of a heads up of when to start and to hopefully get more people to help out with this heartwarming event.
