The boys cross country team fell short in a close match against Richmond Tuesday, August 30. The team had a rough start with the weather not being on their side, but though the mud, and slippery grass, the boys still pushed through and ran the best that they could. Sadly, their best that day was not enough. Although it was bad running terrain, the boys still pushed through.

I just wanted to get out there and see what I could do with the conditions,” senior Patrick Schoenfelder said.

With the boys not winning their past two meets, they still are pretty excited for the rest of the season and cannot wait to see how the team performs with higher stakes. Senior Kevin Vettese is very excited for what he thinks that his team can accomplish this season

“I think that it is a decent start to the season. Not the best start but as the season goes on I think that we will do a lot better,” Vettese said.

Even though it was a close meet, the boys still hustled and did the best they could do given the conditions they had to run in. Even though it was their second loss, the team is still very excited for the season that is ahead of them.
