It’s the time of year where everyone wants to avoid the cold weather and what better way to do that than by joining the bowling team? As tryouts quickly approach, starting Monday, November 13, players need to prepare for not only their season, but the tryouts.

Last season the ladies had two individuals move onto sectionals hoping to earn their spot at state. With this upcoming season almost underway, senior Samantha Knab, who was one of the two individuals to qualify for sectionals, is excited for what this season will bring.

“I think tryouts will go very well this year,” Knab said. “More people are joining since the travel time is shorter this year.”

The tryouts for the girls are three days long and the coaches will look for the highest scores. Although bowling is a no-cut sport, coaches will use scores to place players on teams.

As Antioch Lanes has recently reopened, the girls will use them as their home lanes. The change in location will make it easier for everyone to come out and support the girls.
